NGup Rotor Blades recently received an enquiry from the owner of a wind turbine asking whether it was possible to reduce the excessive noise made by the rotor blades. We felt this to be an excellent opportunity to use our new ISSup or inside inspection system.
After a thorough internal inspection using a camera, we soon came to the conclusion that the blades contained loose pieces of cured polyester that had broken away from the blade shells.
After carefully removing the loose debris from the rotor blades, we ran up the turbine system and found that the noise problem had been solved.
